Loren W. Van Dyke, husband of Hazel Vorice Cccord
     Loren Wayne Van Dyke, son of Dorsey Clinton Van Dyke and Jennie Ware, was born on 28 June 1902 at Greenup, Cumberland, Illinois.

     Loren married Hazel Victoria McCord, daughter of Charles Cornelius McCord and Adeline Verinda Neal, circa 1925.2

     Loren died on 21 August 1975, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix, Maricopa, Arizona, at age 73,3 and was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, Danville, Vermillion, Illinois.3

Census

     Loren appeared on the 1920 Federal Census, enumerated 8 January 1920, the household of his parents, Dorsey and Jennie of Greenup, Cumberland, Illinois.4

     Loren and Hazel appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Danville, Vermillion, Illinois, enumerated 14 April 1930. Loran was a commercial salesman for food products. Their son, Richard Wayne was listed as living with them.2

     Loren and Hazel appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Crawfordsville, Montgomery, Indiana, enumerated 13 April 1940. Loren was working as a salesman for a coffee company. He was renting at the time, paying $25.00 per month.. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $21.35 in the year 2022. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2022 would have cost $.17 cents in 1940.5

Lok Van Dyke Dies


Loren (Lok) W. Van Dyke, age 73 of 670 Rolling Green Dr., Las Vegas, Nev. passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz. on August 21, 1975, following a chronic illness of the past few years.
He was born July 28, 1902, the son of Dorsey and Jennie Ware Van Dyke, former Greenup, Ill. residents. Lok spent his boyhood days in Greenup until the family transferred to Danville, Illinois. He was a member of the Scottsdale, Arizona Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife Hazel; sons Dick of California and Jerry of Las Vegas, Nev; brother, Earl, of Marion, Ind; 7 grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Golda (Van Dyke) Crutcher of Los Angeles, Calif. Walter S. Van Dyke of Casey, Ill. and George Dewey Van Dyke of Richmond, Ind., both recently deceased, were uncles.
Private memorial services for Mr. Van Dyke were held at the Berkhalter Funeral Home in Danville on August 23rd, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.

Lourinda Van Dyke, wife of William Wylde
     Lourinda Van Dyke, daughter of John Van Dyke and Margaret Hazelwood, was born on 7 July 1848.1,2

     Her married name was Wylde.3

     Lourinda married William Wylde after 1860.3

     Lourinda died on 18 March 1935, at Greenup, Cumberland, Illinois, at age 86,4,5,6 and was buried at Greenup Cemetery, Greenup, Cumberland, Illinois.5
