Final Honors Saturday For Jack Buchl

Final honors will be accorded Pfc Jack Buchl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Buchl of 14068 Lincoln avenue, Dolton who was killed in action June 6 in Korea, when funeral services will be held from St. Mary's Catholic church in Riverdale Saturday, Nov 17 at 9:30 a.m. Mass. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. The Bachmann funeral home will have charge of arrangements. Jack had lived in Dolton since 1942 when the family moved here from Hinckley, Minn., where he was born 19 years ago. He was graduated from Lincoln school in Dolton in 1945 after attending Henry Clay school in Hegewish prior to that. He graduate from Thornton Township high school in Harvey in 1949. In June 1950 he joined the Marine Reserve. He was called into active service with the regular Marines in August 1950 and was sent to California that same month sailing for Korea Jan. 27, 1951. In Korea he was assigned to the Weapons Company, Third Battalion, First Marine Division. He leaves his parents, Joseph and Alice Buchl of Dolton; a sister Gloria Schroeder of Harvey and a niece, Carole Jean; his maternal -grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zegler of Dolton and his paternal grandmother, Mary Buchl of Hinckley, Minn.2
