     Hannah C. Covert was born circa 1797.1

     Hannah married Jacob Bennett.3

     Hannah died on 19 January 1870, at Brooklyn, Kings, New York,4 and was buried at New Utrecht Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings, New York.5

Census

     Hannah appeared on the 1855 New York Census of Brooklyn, New York, at New Utrecht, enumerated 5 June 1855. Hannah was a widow. They had one female and four male servants. The male personal were farm workers. Her children Michael S., John C., Catherine D., Elizabeth and Cornelia L., and Michael's wife, Cornelia were listed as living with them.6

     Jacob was baptized on 26 August 1750.1

     Jacob married Rachel Bergen on 21 April 1780.1

     Jacob died on 23 April 1826, at age 75; (a captain of infantry in the Revolutionary war), while a prisoner on parole on Long Island. Prior to the occupation of New York by the British army, Capt. Conover was sent to Sandy Hook and smashed the lamps of the lighthouse,2 to prevent the expected British fleet from having the benefit of the same ; was afterwards taken prisoner near Middletown Point, brought on board one of the enemy's vessels and threatened to be hung on the yard arm as a rebel, the noose even being prepared for his neck, and subsequently confined among the prisoners in the sugar.1
