The Walla Walla Union lias the following notice of the marriage of Miss Helene Delepine, a former Pullman girl: M. William Rochat, of Coeur d' Alene, and Miss Helene Delepine, youngest daughter of Mrs. Harriette Delepine, of France, were united in marriage at eight o'clock last night at the meeting place of their religious society, 353 Park street, Judge Thomas H. Brents officiating. "It was a quiet, simple wedding, only members of the congregation and relatives being present. The bride has lived in Walla Walla for some time, and is well known as a young lady of splendid character and attainments. She has held important positions at the state agricultural college at Pullman and in St. Paul's school in this city. Mr. Rochat is a well to-do land owner and cattle man in the Coeur d' Alenee, and is highly respected by all who know him. The young couple left immediately after the ceremony for their new home.1

     Betty J. Lindley DeMotte was born on 1 April 1920 at Kokomo, Howard, Indiana.1

     Betty married Earl L. Van Dyke, son of Dorsey Clinton Van Dyke and Jennie Ware, circa 1931.

     Betty died on 18 November 2012, at Richmond, Wayne, Indiana, at age 92,1 and was buried at Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Grant, Indiana.1

Obituary

Betty J. Lindley VanDyke, 92, resident of Lamplight of the Leland in Richmond, died at 9:00 am, Sunday, November 18, 2012 in Reid Hospital. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Arthur and Ethel (Gregory) DeMotte. She married Earl L. VanDyke who preceded her in death on August 1, 2003.
She was a former Marion resident where she was a member of Temple Congregational Church. She enjoyed bird watching and being outdoors. She loved flower gardening and was a member of the garden club in Richmond.

Mrs. Catharine A. Sawkins

Mrs. Catharine A. Sawkins. wife of John c. Sawkins, a well known builder and real estate owner of Flatbush, died early Monday morning at her home, 2409 Churoh avenue, after an illness of a year. Heart failure, resulting from a protracted attack of rheumatism, caused her death. Mrs. Sawkins Is survived by her husband and two grandchildren. She was born in Flatlands in 1844 and had been a resident of Brooklyn all her life. For years a member of the Fenimore M. E. Church, she had always been active in its charitable work and prominent in its social interests. The funeral services will bo held at 8 o'clock tonight at her late residence, her pastor, the Rev. Henry E. Hlller, officiating. Interment will be in the Flatlands Cemetery.15
