Simon married Catharine Schenck, daughter of Roelof Schenck and Ghesye Hendrickson, circa 1740, Simon and Catharine were first cousins one time removed.3,4 Simon Van Dyke De Hart left a will on 5 March 1747. It was recorded in Liber 16 of Wills page 99. [:HTML:]
He states his residence in 'Brookland', Kings County and that he is very sick. He leaves all his estate to his wife 'Coty' as he called her for the maintenance of her self and his children so long as she remains a widow. After her death or marriage all his estate is to be divided into three parts between his wife and his son Simon and his daughter Geesie except one silver tankard which he gives to his son Simon. After his son Simon is of age he is to have all the real estate and pay three hundred pounds to his wife and daughter.5
