     Emma and John appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Brooklyn, Kings, New York, enumerated 18 April 1910. John, now in his second marriage, was working a a carpenter. He had a servant, Oline Mosevek, age 38, from Norway in the home. Their grand daughter Edith M. and Viola A. was living with them.5

Emma Norwood Sawkins

Emma Norwood, wife of John C. Sawkins, a prominent resident of Fiatbush, and daughter of tha late Joseph and Hannah Norwood, died Mouday at her home, 92 Linden avenue. She was born in Manhattan, was for twenty years a resident of Fiatbush, one of the constituent members of the Fenimore Street M. E. Church and one of the board of managers of the Brooklyn M. E. Church Home for Aged and Infirm at Park place and New York avenue. She leaves her husband, a sister, Mrs. E. F. Lawrence, and three brothers, Edmund R., Charles and William A. Norwood. Funeral services will be held at her home this evening at 8 o'clock.2
