     James J. Scott Jr. was born on 11 March 1836.2

     James married Emma Theresa Van Dyke, daughter of Matthew Van Dyke and Anna Louise Napton, on 15 August 1877.2

     James died on 7 July 1915, at age 79.2

     James and Emma appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Blackwater, Saline, Missouri, enumerated 12 June 1880. James was listed as a farmer. At the time of the census, he was stricken with dyspepsia. (Dyspepsia is one of the most common ailments of the bowel, intestines.) Their children, Rufus S., Ruth E. and James J., and sister-in-law, Georgia were listed as living with them.3

     James and Emma appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Blackwater, Saline, Missouri, enumerated 7 June 1900 James was listed as a farmer.. Their children, Wayland, Edith, Marguerite, Georgia and Francesca were listed as living with them.4

     James and Emma appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Blackwater, Saline, Missouri, enumerated 22 April 1910. James was working as a farmer. Their children, Francesca were listed as living with them.5

Juliet L. Scott, wife of Leonard W. Van Dyke
     Juliet Lay Scott was born on 22 April 1882 at Missouri.1

     Juliet married Leonard Wilson Van Dyke, son of Jacob Van Dyke and Rachel Rebecca Shepherd, on 19 March 1907.1

     Juliet died on 31 July 1979, at age 97,1,2 and was buried at Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall, Saline, Missouri.2

     Juliet and Leonard appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Marshall Township, Saline, Missouri, enumerated 18 April 1910. Their children, Leonard Scott were listed as living with them..3

     Juliet and Leonard appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Marshall Township, Saline, Missouri, enumerated 14 April 1930. Leonard was listed as working as a real estate manager. He owned his home, valued at $10,000.00. There was a radio set in the home. Their children, Leonard Scott and Barclay were listed as living with them.4

     Patience Scott was born on 6 July 1781.1

     Patience married Garret Wyckoff, son of Garret Wyckoff and Patience Williamson, on 8 January 1834.2

     Patience died on 24 April 1845, at age 63.1
