     Arthur appeared on the 1930 Federal Census, enumerated 17 April 1930, of Bayville, Nassau, New York in the household of his parents, Stephen and Selina.19

     Arthur and Winifred appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Brooklyn, Kings, New York, enumerated 1 April 1940. Arthur was renting a place for $38.00 monthly. According to his wife Winifred, he completed 8th grade and she completed four years high school. Arthur was working as a chauffer and in 1939, he worked 52 weeks, earning $1800.00. Their daughter, Jacqueline Dorothea was listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $16.26 in the year 2012. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2012 would have cost $.21 cents in 1940.20
