     Cornelia C. Van Sicklen was born on 28 April 1829.1

     Cornelia married Gilliam Hendrick Eldert, son of Hendrick Eldert and Sarah Hendrick Emmans, on 20 November 1856.1

     Cornelia died on 24 May 1857, at age 28.1

Aletta Van Siclen, wife of Lawrence B. Ryder
     Aletta Van Siclen was born on 5 March 1803 at New York.3,4

     Aletta married Lawrence Bernardus Ryder, son of Bernardus Jacobussen Ryder and Femmetje Isaacsen Denyse, circa 1824.1 Aletta Van Siclen and Lawrence Bernardus Ryder were Marriage on 9 June 1865 at Flatlands, Kings, New York; Lawrence was living in a frame home. His real estate valued at $500.00. He was listed as "gentleman". It appears they were next door to their son, John's residence.5

     Aletta died on 1 October 1887, at age 84,3 and was buried at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings, New York.1

     Aletta and Lawrence appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated 28 September 1850. Lawrence was working as a farmer. Their children, John L., Alletta and Bernardus were listed as living with them.6

     Aletta and Lawrence appeared on the 1855 New York Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated June 1855. Lawrence was working as a farmer. Their son, John and his wife were living next door..7

     Aletta and Lawrence appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated 29 June 1860.. Lawrence was listed as a farmer. His real estate valued at $10,000 and personal property at $2000.00. They had a James Green, age 65, a farm laborer in the home. Their children, Alletta and Bernardus were listed as living with them.8

     Aletta appeared on the 1875 New York Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated 1 June 1875. The census shows Letty was in a home of a local person..9

     Aletta appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated 22 June 1880. Unknown GEDCOM info: 22 JUN 1880 Lottie, a widow, appears to be living next door to hr son, John..10

Mrs. Letty Ryder

Mrs. Letty Ryder died at the residence of her son, ex-Supervisor, John L. Ryder at Flatlands on Saturday in the 85th year of her age. Her death was a result of her age. She had lived in Gravesend for nearly half a century but had recently removed to Flatlands at her son's suggestion. She was one of the Gravesend Van Siclens, her ancestors having been among the first settlers of the town, and especially of Cony Island, where they now own large tracts of land. She leaves surviving her a sister, the mother of Mrs. Teunis Schenck, of New Utrecht and who as her senior by two years. Mrs. Ryder was of kindly, liberal Christian character, largely exhibiting the traits marked in her son. The funeral took place to-day at 2 o'clock from the Flatlands Reformed Church and the interment was in the village churchyard.11
