     Anna married Nils Ludwig Bäcklund, son of Johan Jönsson Bäcklund and Karolina Andersdotter, circa 1908.1

     Anna Maria Johnson witnessed the baptism of Astrid Elizabeth Bäcklund on 7 May 1916 at First Lutheran Church, Montclair, Essex, New Jersey.3

     Anna Maria Johnson died on 10 July 1941. At St. Vincents Hospital, Montclair, Essex, New Jersey. Anna died of bronchial pneumonia.1,4 She was buried at Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Montclair, Essex, New Jersey.5

He was listed as a cabinet maker. Their children, John Ludwig and Edward N. were listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $21.35 in the year 2022. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2022 would have cost $.17 cents in 1940.8

MRS. LUDWIG BACKLUND

Mrs. Anna Maria Backlund, 59, wife of Ludwig Backlund of 160 Chestnut Street, died yesterday at St. Vincents Hospital of pneumonia. She had been ill a few days. Born in Sweden, Mrs. Backlund had come to this country fifty years ago and had lived in Montclair for the past forty four years. Mrs. Backlund was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons; John L. and Edwin N. Backlund, both of Montclair, and a sister Mrs. Frederick Wickstrom of Worcester, Mass. Services will be conducted at 2:30 P. M. tomorrow at the Home of Meayer & Lundquist, Inc., 100 Valley Road. The Rev. S. Willard Samuelson, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.9
