     Abby died on 29 March 1884, at Bedminster, Somerset, New Jersey,1 and was buried at Lamington Presbyterian Cemetery, Lamington, Somerset, New Jersey.1

Obituary

Her Obituary from the Hunterdon County Democrat January 1, 1884, (sic) April, Forty-Sixth Volume, No. 20 Mrs. Abby R. Vliet, wife of Wm. B. Vliet, near Lamington, injured her head last Friday against the door. Nothing serious was thought of it at the time, but the next afternoon she died from the effects of the injury. She leaves a husband and five children. Her maiden name was Abby Kline. [She was a sister of Mr. John S. Kline, of Flemington and Mr. Peter Kline, of Pleasant Run.] Near Lamington, March 29, 1884, Mrs. Abbie Vliet, aged 43 years. Note: Of the five children mentioned in the Obituary, two were probably step children from William Blauvelt Vliet's first marriage to Charity Smith1

     Carrie died on 12 October 1967, at Yellow Medicine, Minnesota, at age 64,1 and was buried at Bethany Reformed Cemetery, Clara City, Chippewa, Minnesota.2

     Carrie and John appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Crate, Chippewa, Minnesota, enumerated 15 April 1930. John was working as a farmer on a general farm. They had a radio set.3

     Carrie and John appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Stoneham, Chippewa, Minnesota, enumerated April 1940. John was working as a farmer. They had a hired hand working for them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $21.35 in the year 2022. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2022 would have cost $.17 cents in 1940.4
