     Harriet Barnes was born circa 1886.1

     As of 3 August 1918,her married name was McElroy.1

     Harriet, married James E. McElroy at age 66, son of William McElroy and Jane (Starr) Morgan, on 3 August 1918, at Orange, New York. It was the second marriage for both.1

     Harriet died on 19 January 1959, at New York,2 and was buried at Sloatsburg Cemetery, Sloatsburg.

     Harriet and James appeared on the 1925 New York Census of Greenville, Orange, New York, enumerated 1 June 1925. James was working as a farmer. Their children, James G., Mildred and Walter T. and Harriet's daughter, Mary were listed as living with them.3

     Harriet and James appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Greenville, Orange, New York, enumerated 30 May 1940. Their children, Walter T. were listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $21.35 in the year 2022. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2022 would have cost $.17 cents in 1940.4
