Donald B. Downs1

     Donald B. Downs was born on 2 January 1921 at Concord, Merrimack, New Hampshire.1

     Donald married Ann Elizabeth Peterson, daughter of H. P. (Simon) Peterson, circa 1941.1

     Donald died on 24 August 2009, at Concord, Merrimack, New Hampshire, at age 88,1 and was buried at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord, Merrimack, New Hampshire.1

Obituary

Donald B. Downs, 88, of Concord died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at Concord Hospital.
Mr. Downs worked for Page Belting for 25 years and also owned a cleaning business for offices and residential properties. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Pierce Brigade and the Boscawen Historical Society.
He was predeceased by his wife, Anna E. (Peterson) Downs in 1993; and two brothers, Theodore and Clayton.
Survivors include a son, Barton E. and his wife, Cathy, of Belmont; a daughter, Idella and her husband, James Mancini, of Chandler, Ariz; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at Blossom Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association New England Affiliate, 20 Speen St., Framingham, Mass. 01701.
Bennett Funeral Home in Concord was in charge of handling arrangements.1

     John married Maria Eldert, daughter of Hendrick Johannes Eldert and Cornelia Cornelissen Hei.1

     John and Maria appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Flatbush, Kings, New York, enumerated 11 November 1850. John was listed as a farmer. His real estate valued at $25000.00. Their children, John and Maria, and Maria's brother, Gilliam were listed as living with them.3

     John and Maria appeared on the 1855 New York Census of New Lotts, Kings, New York, enumerated 11 June 1855. John had a shingled home, valued at $6000.00. He was working as a farmer. They had a grandson, John D. Vanlicklon (?), also in the home. Their children, John and Maria were listed as living with them.4

     John and Maria appeared on the 1865 New York Census of New Lotts, Kings, New York, enumerated 28 July 1865. John was listed as a farmer. The census indicated Maria had 8 children. Their children, John and Maria were listed as living with them.5
