Sven Gustav Peterson, son of Albert Peterson and Signe Sofia Enquist, was born on 25 March 1927 at Montclair, Essex, New Jersey.^1,2 Sven Gustav Peterson was baptized on 6 July 1927, at First Lutheran Church, Montclair, Essex, New Jersey.³

     The U.S. officially entered World War II on 8 December 1941 following an attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Just about a year before that, in October 1940, President Roosevelt had signed into law the first peacetime selective service draft in U.S. history, due to rising world conflicts. After the U.S. entered WWII a new selective service act required that all men between ages 18 and 65 register for the draft. Between November 1940 and October 1946, over 10 million American men were registered. The Fourth Registration, often referred to as the "old man's registration", was conducted on 27 April 1942 and registered men who born on or between 28 April 1877 and 16 February 1897 - men who were between 45 and 64 years old - and who were not already in the military. Sven filled out a draft card for World War II on 26 March 1945 (at age 18), while living at 64 Claremont Avenue, Verona, Essex, New Jersey. He was a student at Verona High School and his mother, was listed as point of contact. There was a scar on his right wrist.⁴

     Sven married Shirley Ann Bowman, daughter of Carl Sigfrid Bowman and Ruth Angelina Rawstrom, on 20 January 1951, at Montclair, Essex, New Jersey.

Miss Shirley Ann Bowman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Sigfrld Bowman of 29 Otsego Road, became the bride Saturday afternoon of Sven G. Peterson, son of Mrs. Signe Peterson of 64 Clarernont Avenue and the late Albert Peterson. The candlelight service took place in the Flrat Baptist Church of Montclair, with the Rev. Gordon Johnson of the Bethel Baptist Church, Montclair, officiating. A reception followed at the latter church. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white velvet gown. Her finger-tlp-lrngth Illusion veil was held by a velvet coronet, and she carried a bouquet of calla llllies. Mrs. Walter Lerk, of Preaknes, cousin of the brldrgroom and matron of honor, wore an emerald green faille dress trimmed In velvet and carried yellow roses. Bridesmaids, the Misses Martha Keyl of Clifton and Janet Young of Avenel, wore gowns of burnt orange velvet, and also carried bouquets of yellow roses. George Pendorf of Hamilton Road was best man, and ushers included Fred M. Ingold Jr. of Grove Avenue and Mr. Todd. Both Mr. and Mrs. Bowman are graduates of Verona High School, and the bride is also an alumna of the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, Newark. Her husband, who holds a bachelor's degree from Kutsers University, is worklng for his master's degree there and serving as assistant teacher in physical education. Following a short weddlng trip, the couple will make their home at 122 Osborne Lane, University Heights, New Brunswick.^1,5,6

     Sven died on 4 August 1995, at age 68,¹ and was buried at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, Morris, New Jersey.⁷

     Walter F. Peterson, son of H. P. (Simon) Peterson, was born on 21 August 1918 at Massachusetts.^1,2

     Walter died on 30 March 1952, at age 33,^2,3 and was buried on 2 April 1952 at All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts.⁴

     Anna Charlotta Petersson was born on 15 April 1879 at Tjällmo, Östergötland, Sverige.¹

     Anna married Hugo Emanuel Söderström, son of Nils Söderström and Angelina Elisabet Holmgren, on 18 October 1902, at Nyköpings Östra, Södermanland, Sverige.²

     Anna died in 1964.³

     Karl August Petersson, son of Nils Fredrik Pettersson and Karolina Svensson, was born on 22 September 1887 at Kristinehamn, Värmland, Sverige.¹

     Karl emigrated on 13 October 1923, from Kristinehamn, Värmland, Sverige.²

     Karl was found on a passenger list on 13 October 1923 at Göteborg, Göteborg och Bohus, Sverige.³

     Karl married Sophie Caroline Lindgren in 1925, at Medford, Massachusetts.⁴ Karl August Petersson was naturalized on 11 May 1925 at Boston, Norfolk, Massachusetts.⁵
