WM. M. MATHEWS DEAD

Sea Cliff, L. I, June 23. William M. Mathews, 58 years old, a resident of Sea Cliff for 40 years, died yesterday after a three weeks Illness. Mr, Mathews was formerly chief of the fire department and he also was a member of the Board of Education. He was active in civic affairs for. many years. Surviving him are his wife, a son, Chauncy, and three daughters, Clara and Grace Mathews and. Mrs. Wesley Van Dyke, all of Sea Cliff. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow in the family home. Burial will be in the Carpenter Family Bunial Ground, an old cemetery in Sea Cliff.4
