     Rachel Rebecca Shepherd, daughter of Rachel "Surname Unknown", was born on 19 June 1852 at Virginia.1

     Rachel married Jacob Van Dyke, son of Matthew Van Dyke and Anna Louise Napton, on 8 March 1871.1

     Rachel died on 16 July 1934, at age 82,1 and was buried at Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall, Saline, Missouri.2

     Rachel and Jacob appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Marshall Township, Saline, Missouri, enumerated 23 June 1880. Jacob was listed working as a real estate agent. They also had two boarders living at their residence.. Their children, Percy Hampton and Leonard Wilson were listed as living with them.3

     Rachel and Jacob appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Marshall Township, Saline, Missouri, enumerated 10 June 1900 Jacob was working as a real estate agent. They also had a servant in their home. Their children, Percy Hampton, Leonard Wilson, Anna Louise, Rachel Miller, Jacob Rainey and Paul Shepherd were listed as living with them.4

     Rachel and Jacob appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Marshall Township, Saline, Missouri, enumerated 25 April 1910. Jacob was listed as a real estate agent Their children, Jacob Rainey and Paul Shepherd were listed as living with them..5

     Rachel and Jacob appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Marshall Township, Saline, Missouri, enumerated 9 April 1930. Jacob was not listed as working. He owned his home,(valued at $11000.00) and had a radio set.6
