     Wellington Pinkham Black, son of John G. Black and Hannah N. Pinkham, was born on 28 January 1835 at Dedham, Hancock, Maine.2,3

     Wellington, son of John G. Black and Hannah N. Pinkham, married Lucinda Johnson circa 1860.4

     There were four civil war drafts that included 776,000 individuals in that time. WILLIAM BLACK’S FUNERAL HELD

Last Rites Observed at Family Residence in Dedham
The funeral services of William Wallace Black were held Thursday afternoon at the residence in Dedham. Rev. L. E. Distant pastor of the Holden and Dedham Congregational churches officiated and there was a large attendance of relatives and friends. The floral tributes were very beautiful. The bearers were Fred A. Black, Leonard R. Black, Vernon R. Black, Everett T. Black, Albert E. Vanalestine and Walter H. Gray. The burial waa in the family lot in Dedham cemetery.16
